Year-Round Radiance: A Seasonal Soundarya Tailam Routine

Your skin is not the same in January and June, so your routine should flex. How to adapt one good oil across the Indian seasons.

Year-Round Radiance: A Seasonal Soundarya Tailam Routine

Indian skin lives through real seasons, the dry bite of a North Indian winter, the heat of summer, the sticky monsoon, the in-between months. A routine that ignores all this and stays identical year-round is fighting the calendar. Ayurveda has a name for working with it instead: Ritucharya, the seasonal routine. The good news is that you do not need a different product for every season, just a little intelligence about how you use one good oil.

Winter: deep hydration

Cold, dry air strips the skin, so winter is the time to be generous. HerbOcean Soundarya Tailam comes into its own here, four or five drops on slightly damp skin at night, layered under a richer cream if your skin is very dry. Its sesame base and goat-milk character are exactly what depleted winter skin needs.

Summer: lighten the hand

In the heat, the same oil works in smaller doses. Drop to one or two drops, pressed onto damp skin so it absorbs cleanly rather than sitting greasy. The cooling florals in the blend, rose and a little lavender, suit a hot evening, and some people even keep the bottle in the fridge for a cooling application. Less product, same benefit.

Monsoon and the in-between months

The humid monsoon wants restraint and clean skin, so keep the oil light, two or three drops, and make sure the face is properly cleansed before you apply. The transitional months of spring and autumn are about steadying the barrier as the weather shifts, three or four drops at night, adjusted to how the skin feels week to week. The skill is simply reading your skin and adjusting the quantity.

The throughline

One nourishing oil, used with seasonal common sense, carries you through the year, which is precisely the Ritucharya idea: not a new regime every few months, but a steady routine that flexes. Patch-test any new product, and adjust quantities rather than chasing a different bottle each season. Roshni Botanicals formulates in-house in Delhi under AYUSH Licence DL-474 A&U, building on a forty-year formulation legacy.
